Since ABI Opened in 1982, their business model has changed very little. Specialize in wind instruments… serve our customers with humility and respect. Most of our employees are musicians who play the kinds of instruments that they sell, rent, and repair. The company’s founder worked in a wind instrument factory. With the knowledge gained there, their repair shop remains a priority component of the store. Their customers in Southern California are beginners, music educators, professional musicians, and everyone in between. Owners David and Diane Browne founded ABI as a “mom and pop” music store. Even today, they remain actively involved in the day to day operations of the business. The Brownes met 30 years ago when they were playing music professionally. They have two grown sons, both brass players, who benefited from music education in the schools. Since 1982, Anaheim Band has filled a crucial niche in Southern California’s diverse economy. A concerted effort is made to not just sell musical instruments, but instead to provide a vital service to the musical community - to actively support and to partner with music education. ABI has earned a reputation as a leader, specializing in the traditional brass and woodwind instruments, which is so often under serviced in full-line (guitar and synthesizer) music stores.
