With twenty years experience in the piano tuning craft, Adams Piano Ltd provides a comprehensive tuning and repair service to schools, concert halls and private individuals throughout the North Lincolnshire area. Established in 1992, the business is situated in Waltham (Grimsby).The firm aims to supply the general public with a professional piano tuning and repair service.In 1983 the company I worked for went bankrupt and it was at this point I decided to re-train for a career in piano tuning.
Robert Adams attended the internationally renowned course at Newark Technical College between 1984-1987, qualifying with the college’s own Diploma and City and Guilds Parts One and Two in Stringed Keyboard Instrument Manufacture. He is also a member of the Pianoforte Tuners’ Association.They started their career as a radio technician for a small company in Louth in Lincolnshire, serving my apprenticeship between the ages of 16 and 21.The temperament they use is Equal Temperament. This is standard, although it is possible, particularly with the use of modern technology, to tune your piano to an historic temperament.
